ARM Architecture’s Smith Collective project page gives a design and precinct perspective on the former Commonwealth Games Athletes Village. The project was originally created for the 2018 Commonwealth Games before becoming a long-term residential community with apartments, townhouses, shops, public plaza space, parkland and broader urban renewal outcomes.
The project was not only event accommodation. After the Games, it transitioned into a permanent community asset with housing, retail, open space and public-realm infrastructure, which added long-term civic and residential considerations to the delivery environment.
Commonwealth Games Village is part of Nathan Burden’s broader project experience across major precinct work, staged delivery, stakeholder coordination and programme-critical construction. Projects of this scale require strong controls, clear communication and practical delivery leadership across many moving parts.
Smith Collective sits within Nathan’s background in precinct-scale delivery, public legacy projects, community infrastructure and construction environments that need to perform during delivery and long after completion.
