Ipswich Commercial Tower A was a major commercial office development delivered by Hutchinson Builders as part of the Ipswich CBD redevelopment. Australian National Construction Review covered the project as a significant A-grade commercial building with strong sustainability credentials and a central role in the renewal of the city centre.
Nathan Burden’s involvement in the project came through Hutchinson Builders, where he worked in a project manager role on a large commercial office delivery. The project required a different set of controls to high-rise residential work, including commercial floorplate delivery, services coordination, sustainability requirements, tenant expectations, programme certainty and stakeholder reporting.
The formal commercial environment placed strong expectations on quality, compliance, building performance and delivery certainty. Managing those requirements meant coordinating consultants, subcontractors and site teams through each stage of the project, from structure and services through to completion.
Nathan’s work on Ipswich Commercial Tower A reflects his experience across commercial construction, not only high-rise residential delivery. The project involved early planning, consultant coordination, buildability, subcontractor management and the practical controls needed to deliver a complex office project within an active CBD redevelopment.
